Samsung N145 Netbook (ep.5)

Very nice, low-cost, works great!

Well, I have too much experience with laptops & netbooks now. But with four children (two junior and two high schools), a partner computer literate, not to mention my computing needs, I need a “no brainer” solution netbook, that so far the Samsung N145-JP02 -was.
In fact, I share a very low end Compaq laptop with my partner (we share it mildly), but she had an accident with an 18-wheeler, a ton of broken bones in his body, including the back and wrist well, a laptop was simply too big, heavy and cumbersome for her to maintain, let alone the balance on his lap and type. So as a gift of recovery, I searched and found this little netbook from Samsung on the “sale” in a big box store. I would say that almost all netbooks have the same characteristics, the variance is the only true hard drive size of! Thus, an Intel Atom processor with 250 GB hard drive, 3 USB ports, a multiformat card reader, serial port, one Ethernet port and a gig of RAM thin.
Pros:
Excellent keyboard! Think about it you use it, the more it’s worth it. High, separated keys.
Glare-free screen outside priceless!
Solid, sturdy construction. Panasonic Toughbook closer to a netbook than any owned or used.
“Fingerprints free” matte exterior.
Racy stripes red pine. (OK, it’s very subjective, but I like it!)
Cons:
1 GB of RAM. I have already upgraded to 2, and with a previous review, will buy an 8 GB SD card for ReadyBoost, which I am using a USB stick for now …
That’s it. It’s fast enough to run multiple applications, the ethernet card is strong (she catches the signal across the country) and after removing bloatware and remove items from the menu is a quick start as well. Lightweight and extremely portable (I noticed that I “borrow” it’s every time she does not use it) I even like the track pad small (adjustable sensitivity), which I used once while typing an e-mail. I will not enter an e-mail on the other netbook in the house for fear of destroying it because of the frustration.
Functional, easy to use the keyboard, backlit screen glare free and robust-what more could you ask for?
