Pretty nice little computer!
OK, here goes. First of all, I did not buy this on Amazon. I won a contest. The Samsung JP-02 is a netbook. This is not a laptop or a laptop, and if you expect one, so it’s not for you. To surf the Internet core, email, and watch videos which is very well suited. I do not play games on it but would not expect that it would be powerful enough for most popular. As with any computer, it has its strengths and weaknesses. First, although it will play videos from YouTube, etc. wimp, it is not powerful enough to watch TV shows or movies that are broadcast on the net. Second, it is only 1.6 GH processor, so it will not labor-intensive tasks. Third, it only comes with a 250 GB hard drive. Your best bet would be to use a security program such as Micro Soft Security Essentials, which consumes huge amounts of power even if it is free, it is competent and does the job. I would also not worry about upgrading from Windows 7 Starter to the full blown Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade. Also, an upgrade that I have not but worth it, is upgrade your RAM to 2 GB There is only 1 GB that comes with it. Open the merits of the case and remove the RAM chip. Be careful not to break it. Look below and it will tell you if you want to add DDR2 or DDR3. Get the right ram, and buy it on Amazon. If you buy in stores, it will cost double or triple. In addition, it does not come with a DVD player. I do not have one, but I’m sure it will be fast enough to watch movies from the DVD. Also, save space and remove the bloatware (games and software testing), you do not need.If you buy a laptop / notebook in this price range, you get nothing more than the same features with a larger, more pixilated screen.
I would venture to say that although I have no children, I think this little netbook would work fine for them.
